Now that summer has come to an end, people think it’s time to hibernate and keep warm inside. But me, I think differently. I love the fall! The cooler temperatures, colour of the leaves, and the idea of cozying up to someone you love to keep warm makes me smile. I thought I would share a few ideas from around the web to create the perfect fall getaway, right in your backyard!
First things first, we need to be warm. So how about starting off with a nice warm campfire! If you don’t have one in your yard already, you could always make your own like this DIY Concrete Fire Pit from ManMade, which I personally love. Otherwise if you want to keep it simple you can easily make your own apple cider to sip (like this one from Sally’s Baking Addiction) while cozying up with some warm blankets! If your looking for a cute way to display your cozy essentials, Home Depot has you covered with this DIY rustic storage crate; it’s perfect for pillows and blankets! Of course every getaway needs snacks, so how about enjoying some apples with caramel dip, pumpernickel bread with spinach dip, or to go along with your campfire, set up a s’more station and enjoy a warm s’more. Finally to really set the mood as you relax into the night, hang some string lights that will create a warm glow as the sun goes down.
So that’s that! If your thinking of having people over for thanksgiving why not set up a backyard movie, or play some backyard games! Just because the temperature has dropped, doesn’t mean we can’t continue to enjoy the gorgeous weather. Enjoy and Happy Thanksgiving!
